OBITUARY Frontman Comments On DVD Shoot
August 30, 2006Florida-based death metallers OBITUARY shot their first-ever live DVD last Thursday (August 24) at the Stodola Club in Warsaw, Poland.
Commented the group's frontman John Tardy: "The DVD show in Poland went great! This was our first DVD shoot, so we were a little nervous on how it might go, but our Polish fans really came out and supported us. I think the show was awesome! Thanks to all of you that came out! We still have a lot of work to do to get it done, mixing and editing, but I think it is gonna be sick! The Up From The Ground Festival in Germany was even better than I thought it was gonna be. When you headline a large outdoor festival you always have the chance of the crowd being a little worn out by the end of the night, but they really hung in there. It was raining most of the day and everyone was soaked and covered in mud, but they were going off!

As previously reported, the DVD will include a seven-camera shoot of the show plus an interview conducted the day before the gig, on August 23. A November release via Metal Mind Productions is expected.
OBITUARY's latest CD, "Frozen in Time", was released in July 2005 via Roadrunner Records. The group's first collection of new songs since 1997's "Back from the Dead" was self-produced by the band, with Mark Prator and Scott Burns engineering, and was mastered by Tom Morris at Morrisound.
